What is The Stanley Ale House?
A Micropub, according to the Micropub Associations, is defined as:
A small free house which listens to it's customers, mainly sells cask ales, promotes conversation, shuns all forms of electronic entertainment and dabbles in traditional pub snacks.
We are proud to say that we follow this philosophy. At the start of our venture we met many new customers who enjoyed our ales. However, these customers had friends, husbands and wives who preferred other beverages. We listened, and started to stock wine, gin, single malts, a small selection of other spirits and soft drinks. As we have grown we have added 9 keg lines to enable us to offer a wider range of ales and ciders to our customers. |

People often question whether we are still a Micropub, as we offer drinks other than just cask conditioned ale. It's a question without a definitive answer. We believe that we have followed the philosophy,
- We have listened to our customers and adapted.
- We do not have televisions or gaming machines.
- We do not play background music.
- Cask ale is the backbone of The Ale House.
We are proud to be called a Micropub, equally we are proud to be called an Ale House.
Whatever you decide to call us, we are here, serving a marvellous selection of drinks, promoting conversation and generally having a good time. Cheers.
